VW GTI Supersport Gran Turismo revealed

VW has added another no-holds-barred supercar to its digital racing fleet. The new GTI Supersport joins the existing roadster model which gamers of Gran Turismo 6 on the Sony PlayStation can race.

Carrying over the wild aero-inspired body from the roadster, the latest racer still keeps the traditional GTI silhouette you’ll see on the Golf GTI roadcar. Body surfaces and proportions have been exaggerated slightly, with a huge fixed rear wing, bulging arches and deep front and rear bumpers being added.

Beneath the body vents and carbon fibre exterior, VW has fitted a 503bhp VR6 TSI petrol engine, mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox which develops 665Nm of torque. VW claims the GTI Supersport is good for a top speed in excess of 186mph, with the permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive system helping crack 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds.

VW’s latest creation is available to download and race now, with colour options including Reflex Silver, Gran Turismo Red, Lapiz Blue and Oryx White.
