2016 Porsche Cayman Facelift Spotted
These spy shots show very minor styling updates to the Porsche Cayman, which is due to undergo a mid-life revision including the possibility of a four-cylinder engine addition.
The facelift itself appears reliatively minor as is the norm with Porsche models. The front bumper is restyled with new LED daytime running lights and the headlights look to have changed shape. At the rear, a reshaped bumper and new tailights can be spotted.
The interior is also thought to be receiving updates, although the spy shots don’t reveal anything new. The cabin is likely to offer a new steering wheel design, as well as a new infotainment system and extra driver-assistance packages.
The most interesting addition to the Cayman in 2016 could be the rumoured turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine. Possibly between 1.6 and 2.0 litres in capacity, the new flat-four engine should bring the Cayman to a whole new level in terms of efficiency.
Don’t expect these entry-level Caymans to lose out in terms of performance, as the top-spec four-pot Cayman is still expected to churn out around 300bhp. It is unclear whether the old six-cylinder units will remain in the line-up.
