Unsurprisingly, Aston Martin has just dropped a drop-top, the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster. With the release of the new Vantage in 2024, following their pattern, the Roadster’s release did not release us but what did was just how absolutely gorgeous it looks and how brutal it sounds.

Power and Performance

It shares its engine with the Vantage coupe from last year. a formidable 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 656 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This beast of an engine takes the Roadster from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.5 seconds, topping out at a top speed of 325 km/h. The engine is located at the front and it is a rear-wheel drive. It is only about 60 KGs heavier than the couple but there is no decrease in performance as the suspension has been adjusted to accommodate for the change in weight. 

The handling of the Vantage Roadster is quite akin to the couple. The chassis has been strengthened with weight-optimised shear panels, enhancing structural rigidity along with the suspension system features retuned adaptive dampers and front double wishbones. It moves as well as it looks.

The interior of the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster do not disappoint, but that really does not come as a surprise. Aston Martin’s design team tends to always hit the nail when it comes to making a car exude luxury. Going fast with sophistication seems to be a motto of theirs. The cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with a (optional) premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 11 speakers and a 390-watt amplifier. Within the smaller 2-seat cabin of the Vantage Roadster, the sound will chill the bones in the best possible way.

The same philosophy can be observed on the outside, with the roadster featuring a wider and more assertive stance reminiscent of the Aston Martin Vanquish. The new front grille, bumper, and headlights give it an almost yacht-like appearance but still, undeniably, Aston Martin. The rear bumper incorporates additional vents for improved aerodynamics.
