Porsche 911 Facelift: Spy Shots Porsche 911 facelift spied - GVE London

Porsche 911 facelift spied

Updated Porsche 911 is on the way, and our photographers have spotted a new version of the Targa being tested.

Our spies have caught the facelifted Porsche 911 Targa testing, despite the current car only arriving in showrooms earlier this year. The entire 911 range is due for a facelift in late 2015, with a possible debut at the LA Motor Show in November. Expect revised head and taillight designs, as well as a tweaked front bumper and new exhaust system – the clever folding roof and curved rear screen will remain.

he big news from Stuttgart is that some of the 911’s naturally aspirated flat-six engines will adopt turbochargers from late next year, a fact confirmed to us by Wolfgang Hatz, Porsche R&D boss, at the LA Motor Show this year. Whether it will be the entry-level Carerra or more-powerful Carerra S model that gets turbo power remains to be seen.

A spokesman from Porsche GB said: “The existing 3.4-litre Carrera already returns around 30mpg and emits just over 200g/km of CO2, so when you consider the performance on offer, we’re happy with where we are on the development curve.”

Inside, there’s a good chance that PDK-equipped models will feature the multi-function steering wheel from the 918 Spyder and Macan SUV, along with new materials and a more upmarket cabin.
