Tesla Model S Stealth PPF & De-chrome – This customer wanted to have the look of his Tesla transformed, as well has having the paintwork protected.

They chose a satin Paint Protection Film to give the car a stealthier finish. The film used was XPEL Ultimate PPF, which is self healing and has a 10 year warranty against yellowing and peeling. It will protect this Tesla from harsh weather conditions, birdlime as well as stone chips scratches and scuffs.

The process began by decontaminating the car using car shampoo and a clay bar treatment. This removed all dirt and impurities from the surface of the car and will prevent the PPF from peeling or lifting in the future.

The patterns of this PPF were designed on a specialised software and cut out on a state of the art plotting machine. This allowed the team to apply the film without the need for knives, which reduces the likelihood of damage. They were then applied to the car with an alcohol solution and squeegee tools.

The team also de chromed the car, using gloss black vinyl. Areas covered included the door handles, window trim, grille trim and boot trim. The windows were also tinted and the alloys were sprayed gloss black. This completed the overall stealth look of the car.

A ceramic coating was also added for extra protection against scratches and swirl marks. The team used Gtechniq’s Crystal Serum Ultra, as it is the best on the market!
